A very intricate and precise pattern from the Jing Wu stable. This pattern is distinguished by very small, sharp hand and foot movements and uses the open hand almost exclusively, although it does also feature large open and powerful movements common to Shaolin styles. One of the hundreds of freehand patterns taught at Jing Wu. The Jing Wu school was made famous by the reputation of it's first master, Huo Yuan Jia. Shaolin Spear Pattern

This teenage Shaolin practitioner displays a Shaolin spear pattern. He is using a relatively short, light and flexible spear, which allows him to wield it at pace and send force right to the tip with ease. However, he also shows great familiarity with the weapon. There is no hesitation or fluffing of movements involving spinning the spear, throwing it in the air or extending it to it's furthest reach. Wu Tai Chi Single Sword Pattern

Master Chen Guo Fu is a lifelong practitioner of the Wu/Hao Style of tai chi. It is the lesser known of the five government-recognised tai chi styles, having not reached the popularity of the Yang, Chen, Sun or Wu styles. Most martial styles emphasise a deep and long stance, whereas Wu style has an exceptionally upright and small step, and focusses on small movements to conserve energy.
