Shaolin Staff
Another variation on the Shaolin staff pattern. In truth, many weapons patterns share similar principles at their core, despite endless variation in forms between regions and styles. If you have ever practised with a staff you'll recognise the various striking movements and the way Master Sun shifts his grip to get the full use of the length. Blocking movements with a staff are sometimes concealed - what looks like a strike can often, with a slight change in application, become a block to another staff attack. And it gets really complicated when something blocks and strikes at the same time.
