Calling Crane

Master Huang Guo Xiong demonstrates Calling Crane Wushu (Ming He Quan). Calling Crane is the most famous of the five crane styles in Fuzhou, thanks to its creator Master Xie Zhongxian (Ruyruko). Master Xie had studied many different styles of martial arts, including Crane, and fused them together to produce a new style which he named after its distinctive breathing techniques. He had opened his school while only 31 years old and soon attracted students not only from China but also from Okinawa. Among them were Higashionna Kanryo and Nakaima Norisato through whom Calling Crane influenced Goju Ryu and Ryuei Ryu Karate respectively.
