Miao Dao
Master Wang Li Sheng demonstrates a pattern with the impressive two handed sword known as the Miao Dao. The thin curved single edged blade is part of the Dao broadsword family despite looking so different from the traditional Chinese broadsword. The Miao Dao is related to the horse cutting knife Ma Dao, which is a long range weapon with a handle the same length as the blade. It is also related to the famous Japanese katana, as the two weapons share the same ancestor in the swords used in China during the Tang and Song Dynasties.
