Wudang Horse Hair Whip Pattern
The horse hair whip is a traditional religious item for practising Daoist monks. The whip features in Daoist rituals, much in the same way as a wooden straight sword has religious significance in combating demons. In this pattern, we see the combination of religious items and martial arts that is so typical of Daoist kung fu. The whip is used to distract and blind the opponent, and is followed up with pinpoint strikes. Filmed in Wudang, May 2005.
