Wudang Flute Pattern
Master Cai here shows a key section of the Wudang flute pattern. Many Daoist weapons patterns found in Wudang style have spiritual as well as practical applications. Music is seen by Daoists as a way to unify the body and soul with the divine. Playing stimulates the meridians in the fingertips and the refined sounds help cultivate the mind. Although this pattern shows many movements that can be applied to fighting, the significance of the pattern goes much deeper. Filmed in the Zi Xiao Courtyard, Wudang Mountain, May 2005.
