Shaolin Ying Shou Staff
This is a key beginning staff pattern from the Shaolin stable. The staff being used is exceptionally thin and light - this is befitting for the children's age and size, but also typical of many wushu patterns. Lighter and more flexible wood is used to enable more flex along the length of the stick, as evidenced by the middle section of this pattern in which the staff is bent against the ground.
